May was quite a month for me, lot’s of trades and a handful of cash ($1,507) made. 31 trades (a nice $309.69 to TDAmeritrade) represented a lot of learning for me. Reading Timothy Sykes and Howard Lindzon among other people, has also been a big help in creating a better understanding of what’s going on. Sykes focuses on shorting really shitty small caps, while Lindzon is a trend follower looking for new highs. I’ve joined them on several occasions, for some good trades and some bad trades.
Some highlights in May included lots of riding ETFC up and down, making a good $1728 with several trades, too bad I got burned from a bad ESLR ride, and a stupid FXP short.
I entered May with $6,997 and left with an account value of $11,049.
Stock Tweets is REALLY cool, and the reason you’ll see me twitter stock symbols with the $ (dollar sign).
The charts that Stock Tweets pulls, come from FinViz.com which is an awesome site! I love the crisp design, and the amount of data on a single stocks page is phenomenal! FinViz is definitely my new favorite source for stock info.
June so far
I’ve got a really good feeling about June, and think I’m starting to really understand my own personal trading profile. Shorting Southwest (LUV) and Northwest (NWA) at their peaks this week after all the analyst upgrades has become my favorite trade so far.
